Humans have coexisted and lived in harmony with wildlife and nature for about six million years and have evolved, built tools, created civilizations, adapted to their environment, and finally have become the humans we are today. However, in the last two centuries, industrialization and urbanization have intensified environmental health risks and pollution which has led us to lose our balance and harmony with nature. This imbalance has been accelerated greatly in the past 50 years to a point where we are now at risk of irreversible change. Today we face countless global issues that plague mankind. But what are we doing about it?
I always felt that we aren't doing enough as a part of the generation with the responsibility and the power to make a change. The need to give back to earth and take steps in the right direction grew stronger as I got older and understood the seriousness of the problem. However, having spoken about this with my friends usually got me nowhere; nobody truly thought this was a serious issue. I felt a strong urge to increase awareness and build a foundation that can help guide the youth in the right direction, to contributing towards the environment.
Finally in July 2022, I found an answer. After having attended a 3 week long workshop, I chose to formulate my final project around climate change. I used this as an opportunity to build the base for EcoDen. My project was announced as one of the top projects out of over 100 participants at Community AI, in August 2022 and I felt encouraged to make this organization a reality. After having worked on it for almost a year, I finally launched EcoDen in April 2023 and was absolutely thrilled to see the amount of support it received.
EcoDen has been created to build awareness, to drive change and to make an impact. Through education, research, and advocacy, this organization works to create a more sustainable future for all. EcoDen is a community built to encourage youngsters to make a change and provide access to resources to enable them to contribute to the environment. EcoDen enables you to make a difference, with the click of a button!
